Lou Silber

Lou Silber wanted to address the safety issues that existed on his property as a result of the location of his driveway. His search for a solution for his four vehicles led him to Spacepark.

Gary LeTet

Owner/builder Gary LeTet knew that installing a vehicle turntable was essential to get council approval for a five-storey development on his narrow block.

“I had no choice. The property was only 9.5m wide so we had no conventional parking at all. It is all within a stacking system. One stacker at the back of the property has eight cars in it, and then on the other side of the turntable is a smaller one with four cars, giving a total of 12.

“The turntable is in the middle, and it is essential to get cars off the machines and turn them around in the other direction. Without the whole system you could only fit three cars in and not only would residents have been unhappy, I don't think council would have approved the scheme without it.”

Miguel Pires

Builder Miguel Pires' basement carpark had the space but not the structural specifications to accommodate all his cars. A vehicle turntable provided the perfect solution to his parking issues.

“If we didn't have the turntable installed we could only fit a maximum of three cars, because you have to do a three-point turn to get out. But with the turntable we can reverse park and get six down there. We were leaving the cars out on the street before, but this way they are all kept under cover and stored away nice and safe. So it definitely makes life a little easier.”

Safety concerns were what got homeowner, C.H., thinking about vehicle turntables. So, when he started renovating his property, he saw an opportunity and suggested it to the architect.

“I have a slightly sloping drive and quite a large car, so if you reverse out of the driveway backwards, even with vehicle cameras, then you are running a safety issue. I've got small kids, and their safety was paramount.

David Dunworth

David Dunworth's property location in a battleaxe block made accessing it by car a nightmare. So, when his vehicle turntable stopped working, it had to be replaced right away. However, he wasn't happy with the existing product or the service he was getting from the company he'd been using, so he decided to shop around.

“We had an old turntable there but it was a heap of junk and didn't really work. I chose Spacepark because they have a very good name — they had put one in for a friend of mine and he was very happy with it. They were also recommended by a number of architects.

Robert Terrone

Compliance with council safety specifications on his two-terrace block prompted Robert Terrone to go on the hunt for a vehicle turntable.

“It was mandated by council. It was the only way they would approve basement parking, because the development is located on a roundabout and they didn't want people reversing out onto it. They had to exit the property nose-first and they didn't deem the area wide enough for a three-point turn.

“Spacepark were great in terms of the installation. They certainly did not hold me up waiting for them at any stage of the process. The days they committed to being there and doing what they had to do, they came and did it. There were no issues at all.”

Robert reckons reliable service and a sound product have been the most important factors in making his experience a positive one.

“Having to go through a development, never having done anything like it before, the fact that Spacepark were reliable and delivered to the commitments they made, on time, meant a lot to me.

“The turntable itself is great. I use it all the time, and it is actually very handy so it was a good thing council mandated it.

“If I had to recommend Spacepark to someone I would simply say that their product is good, their price is good, and their service is good. Plus they are nice people to deal with. I am very happy with their work. If I needed one in the future I would certainly use them again.”

Thomas Graham

Concerns for his mother's safety led Thomas Graham to investigate the possibility of installing a vehicle turntable.

“My mother is 82 and her garage is on a sloping block with a fairly steep driveway. It was a nightmare for her to reverse out and negotiate the turn, because if her foot slipped off the brake while she was reversing she could shoot across the road in front of oncoming traffic.

“A friend gave me three websites to look up and I spoke to all of them, but there was a lot more personal, hands-on service with Spacepark. They were so much better in pricing and it was fully manufactured and made in Australia, whereas the other ones had imported turntables.

“They talked me through the process and it was really simple. It was just a breeze and it all went very smoothly. The two blokes who installed it were excellent. They were really nice guys and obviously very experienced in what they were doing. I was also astonished at how quickly they got it all done.”

Thomas and his mother couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. In fact, he wishes they had thought of it years ago.

“Mum is just overjoyed with it. The confidence in her driving has returned. It is amazing how often she ducks out now - before she was really terrified, but now she just spins the car around and drives straight out. It has probably extended her driving life by five years.
